CAD and 3D MODELING

From conceptual plant layouts to component  design or prototyping efforts, we are happy to offer you our significant expertise in CAD and 3D modeling.  You will find our designers knowledgeable and creative.

Our capabilities include: SolidWorks, Plant 3D and AutoCAD.

COMPUTATIONAL FLUID DYNAMICS (CFD)

Often our clients will require a deeper scientific understanding of what combustion or flow effects are driving certain behaviors in the turbine, HRSG or over a blade. We provide steady-state or transient solutions by complementing our expertise in heat transfer, fluid flow and thermodynamics with significant capabilities in CFD analysis.  These capabilities help our clients shorten development cycles and reduce expensive and time-consuming testing activities.

We often work directly with client testing personnel to correlate our models.  This helps ensure the most accurate results possible.

Capabilities include: openFOAM, simFlow and CONVERGE.

GAS TURBINE and COMBINED CYCLE PERFORMANCE MODELING

Whether you are looking to upgrade and existing installation or build a new plant, we are able to model expected output and heat rate characteristics of your system.  We work closely with the major OEM's: GE, Siemens and Mitsubushi and have built our own proprietary decks  for many models, both old and new, over the years.

Ultimately, it comes down to rate of return and we help our clients understand what they are getting for their investment dollars.

We have also diagnosed many installed turbines using our models to identify components that are experiencing significant deteroriation and to help focus uprate efforts.
